A genuine vintage Allen & Hanburys Ltd reusable medical syringe, manufactured by one of Britain’s oldest and most respected pharmaceutical and surgical instrument makers. Bearing the company’s distinctive “Trade Mark 1715” mark, which commemorates the year the firm was founded, this substantial syringe dates to approximately 1930–1950.

Constructed from nickel-plated brass with a traditional finger-ring and thumb-plunger design, the syringe is stamped “25” on the nozzle, indicating a 25cc (25mL) capacity. This larger size was commonly used for medical irrigation, wound cleansing, ear syringing and veterinary procedures before the introduction of disposable plastic syringes.

The plain tapered nozzle was designed to accept a variety of reusable attachments, making it a practical piece of professional medical equipment from the pre-disposable era.

Today, it makes an excellent addition to a medical collection, cabinet of curiosities, apothecary display or museum collection, representing an important period in the history of medicine and surgical instrumentation.

Condition: Good vintage condition with light age-related wear and patina consistent with age. The plunger operates smoothly. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
