Antique Amber Apothecary Bottle – Handwritten “MIST MORB” Pharmaceutical Label
Free UK shipping on orders over £50
A wonderfully atmospheric antique amber glass apothecary bottle, complete with its original ground-glass stopper and a fragment of its original handwritten pharmaceutical label.
The aged paper label clearly appears to read “MIST MORB”, giving the bottle an intriguing connection to historic pharmacy and medicinal preparation. The exact meaning of the surviving abbreviated inscription is uncertain, but the handwritten nature of the label provides a lovely glimpse into the working world of the traditional chemist or apothecary.
The bottle is beautifully formed in deep amber/brown glass, with a substantial neck and original stopper. The label is worn, torn and heavily aged, but remains remarkably evocative and adds considerably to the character of the piece.
A fantastic medical antique and apothecary display piece, particularly suited to collectors of pharmaceutical history, antique bottles and Victorian-era medicalalia.
Condition: Good antique condition with significant age-related wear to the label, including tearing and fading. Glass shows minor surface marks consistent with age. Original stopper present.
A genuine piece of old pharmacy history with plenty of mystery.
